David Booth was plucked off of free agency today, as the Toronto Maple Leafs finally found their Mason Raymond replacement.
“After losing Raymond we knew we were in trouble” explained Toronto GM Dave Nonis. “We needed a guy that would skate really fast and be effective in October and November, but then drastically drop off the map as the playoffs approached. We feel we’ve found that in David Booth. Our only concern is that sometimes he likes to drive to the net, which is a strict no no for our ‘Mason Raymond Protocol’ but we’re hoping we can coach that out of him.”
Calgary has already reached out to David Booth about signing a 3 year, $9 million dollar deal for next year.
